Sustainability

At World of Volvo, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Our strategy is a roadmap for growth and development in an environmentally responsible, genuine, and caring way. Guided by the Volvo brand and aligned with the sustainability strategies of our owner companies, we ensure that sustainability informs every decision, interaction, and collaboration.

Our commitment to sustainability is anchored in three key principles. First, when it comes to climate, every decision we make aims to minimize our carbon footprint and environmental impact across all operations and events. Second, in terms of resources, we are dedicated to the principles of REDUCE, REUSE, RESTORE. This means we work to minimize waste, conserve water and energy, and choose durable, recyclable products. Finally, we focus on people, striving to inspire and foster a culture of innovation and sustainability for our guests, employees, suppliers, and society at large.

A Greener Building
The design and construction of the World of Volvo building reflect our commitment to sustainability:

  • Sustainable Materials: Built predominantly with wood, a material chosen for its lower carbon footprint compared to traditional building materials.
  • Reusable Construction: Construction joints have been designed for future reuse, ensuring longevity and adaptability.
  • Green Spaces: The 12,000 m² of outdoor landscape, coupled with an ecological zone along Mölndalsån, enhances biodiversity and promotes well-being. The surrounding area encourages movement, relaxation, and access to green urban spaces.

Our building is certified:

  • LEED Gold: Ensures environmentally friendly design and reduced ecological impact.
  • WELL Gold: Highlights our focus on social sustainability, creating a healthier and more vibrant environment.

Efficient Waste Management
We partner with Renova, an ISO-certified company, to manage waste sustainably. Our facilities include a 63 m² waste sorting room, ensuring all materials are handled responsibly. Additionally:

  • Food waste is processed using grinders that reduce our environmental footprint.
  • Approximately 10% of parking spaces are equipped with electric vehicle chargers, supporting greener transportation.

Eco-conscious partnerships

World of Volvo operates entirely on renewable energy, with eco-conscious partnerships across all areas. Our cleaning services are ISO-certified and in our restaurants, we work with partners aligned with initiatives like "Hållbarhetsklivet" to promote sustainable practices and locally sourced produce. We also collaborate with Nudie Jeans for our workwear, which follows the Greenhouse Gas Protocol methodology, ensuring that the production of our workwear aligns with responsible emission practices.

Sustainable dining

Our restaurants prioritize seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, with vegetarian options leading the menu. Sustainability extends to every detail, including paper-based takeaway materials and FSC-certified napkins. To further reduce our environmental footprint, all water served is filtered and carbonated on-site, cutting down on unnecessary transport emissions.
