Volvo LV290 DS

A nose for success
This tow-truck is built on the LV290 chassis, the same chassis used for the “Longnose” truck range.

This was necessary in order to accommodate the six-cylinder FB engine with 140 hp. It continued to produce a high power output when run on generator gas during World War II. LV290 was Volvo’s most powerful truck; featuring a sturdy chassis and robust axles. It was ideal for heavy rigs and for use in applications such as snowplough and towing operations.

The tow-truck on display was used by Swedish Army’s P4 regiment from 1941 to 1951.
